Castrol Polyalkylene Glycol Lubricant (PAG) is specifically formulated for R134a mobile a/c systems. PAG oils are more abrasive to the skin than that of Mineral or Ester oils. Special requirements are needed when handling this product. It is compatible with R134a refrigerant only, Neoprene, HNBR, Buna N o'rings, and XH7 and XH9 desiccant. PAG oils and refrigerants are hydroscopic relative to mineral or ester oils and their exposure to air should be minimized in order to avoid excessive water absorption.
Three different viscosity grades of polyalkylene glycol lubricants formulated for R134a A/C systems are available. They meet or exceed OEM specifications.
