Krikit gauges enable the user to get to those cramped areas to measure belt tension. Krikit gauges are a cost effective way to get a tensioner into the hands of every mechanic. Krikit gauges are small enough to carry around in a pocket.
Improperly tensioned belts cause slippage, squealing, heat build-up and premature failure. After a new belt has been installed, run the engine for 3 to 5 minutes to seat the belt. After seating the belt, reset the tension to amount recommended as per the vehicle manufacturers specifications.
