Truck and bus operators have experienced a great deal of problems with tone ring corrosion causing loss of ABS signals. This forces the fleet to change the rotors at very low mileage while the rotor is fine but the ABS tone ring has failed. Testing has shown mere coatings are inefective in preventing this corrosion because of very high, sustained temperatures in the rotor hat.
We have addressed this with the design of the rotor hat and tone ring, a special metallurgy and coating to better handle the heat. As you can imagine this translates to a huge savings for the fleet in parts, labor, and downtime.
